Ahlan Wa Sahlan Wa Marhaban,welcome to the web page of Faculty of Innovative Design and Technology (FRIT), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). This website will help you to obtain information regarding the programs offered in the department.

FRIT was established in 2006 with the mission to provide applied and industry based programs and being a preferred faculty in the field of design and technology. FRIT is committed in its effort to ensure quality and standard of all its Academic Programs to fulfil the country’s manpower needs as the nation advances towards 2025 to become a high income economy. As part of UniSZA, a Comprehensive University, FRIT strives to ensure its programs are tailored towards producing holistic, entrepreneurial, and balanced graduates in line with the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2015-2025.

I recognize the devotion and sincere efforts of previous Deans and other administrators of FRIT for their rich contributions to making the FRIT what it is today. Driven by the vision of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), under my leadership our affairs are largely guided by the slogan of “Passionate, Sincerity and Excellence in performance” In view of this goal statement, I feel the need to bring about paradigm shifts in the process of cultivating a new work culture and galvanizing our commitment and effort to maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct.

To remain academically relevant, FRIT will continuously gather inputs from industries across the key sectors to really understand the changing landscape that are taking place with automation of knowledge work and application of new technologies. We need to know the new industries, its nature, sizes, and numbers, and most importantly the demand for new attributes and skills of the graduates the faculty should provide.

We are glad to inform you that our ALUMNI are being employed and working with various design and manufacturing companies and some are entrepreneurs with their own businesses. Their contributions to the employer’s, their own businesses, and Ummah are marked as distinguish achievements of excellence in the field of Design and Technology in line with our Motto: Knowledge for the Benefit of Humanity.
